Ponte Vecchio
Trattoria Italiana
December is a time for dark evenings with warm light twinkling through windows, cold air filled with rime and the scent of spices, and the welcoming warmth of the building as you step over the threshold into a restaurant for a festive meal with family, friends and colleagues. This year, we recognise that for many, circumstances have changed, but we still hope to welcome you for an Italian meal to enjoy the month's festivities or get out and enjoy a night away from having to cook and wash up.
Three years ago, we stopped offering a set menu to reduce Alice's workload, and most importantly, to try and make this extravagant time of year more affordable. This year, we repeat this and encourage our guests to remember that there is no pressure to overdo it with us in terms of over-stretching your wallet or needing to loosen your belt once you've eaten.

This years menu is now available to view, and will be available from December 6th. As ever, regardless of table size, we are still asking for main courses to be preordered at least a day before. If your booking is for 8 people or more, then we request that your preorder is with us at least 3 days in advance of your party and that it includes starters and desserts where possible, and that you reduce the menu choices your party can select from in order to make things more manageable for Alice in the kitchen. We will discuss this with you upon booking. With larger bookings, it is very helpful if the party organiser is able to include guests' names alongside their menu choices and dietary requirements.
We try to ensure that everyone gets a good range of meals from which to chose, regardless of dietary requirements and eating habits. Most of the menu is available with vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options, but please get in touch should you need clarification on the alternatives we offer.
We do not ask for deposits, or add service charge to your bill. Anything you choose to leave, is divided equally amongst staff who have worked during the evening of your booking, and is given in addition to their living wage.

Our dining room will be simply decorated with homegrown, dried flowers and foraged greenery from our Rockfield allotment and flickering pillar candles. If you would like to bring your own Christmas crackers, then we are happy for you to do so, and we will recycle and even compost their waste where we can, but please avoid other, non-regenerative decorations like table confetti. It is critical to our business model that we push beyond trying to be sustainable, and look instead to no longer creating unnecessary waste.
